Special Meeting

December 29, 2009   5:30 p.m.

City of Oswego, Kansas

Present:  Councilmembers Dave Blankinship, Ryan Willis, Cindy Sanders, Jane Rea, Glenn Fischer and Ty Lewis, with Mayor Tom Bringle presiding.  City Clerk Cheri Peine.

Mayor Bringle opened the public hearing on amending the 2009 budget.

Appointment of City Treasurer

Blankinship made a motion and Sanders seconded to approve Mayor Bringle’s appointment of Nikki Lewis as City Treasurer for the remainder of the 2009-2010 term.  Motion carried.

Councilmembers Glenn Fischer and Ty Lewis entered the meeting at 5:35 p.m.

2009 Budget Amendment

Fischer made a motion and Willis seconded to approve amending the 2009 Budget as published.  Motion carried.

Health Insurance

Peine reported health insurance premiums for 2010 were received and increased over 26%.  Letters to seek assistance from a consultant to help with soliciting bids, reviewing bids and submitting a recommendation to the Council for health insurance will be mailed this week.  Information will be submitted at the January meeting for Council consideration.

There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 5:43 on motion from Sanders and seconded from Lewis.  Motion carried.
