Dumpsters for residents of Oswego may be rented for a major cleaning project, such as after an auction, as part of the closing of an estate, etc. where a large volume of items need to be disposed of.  The city will provide a dumpster for up to three months for a cost of $100 plus a fee each time it is emptied, and the customer must call when a pickup is needed.  After three months, a $50 fee will be charged for each additional month it is needed. 

Items that may be placed in the dumpster include:  wood, metal, household or yard furniture, toys, used motor vehicle parts, household appliances, clothes, shoes, etc.  NOTE:  If an item, such as a refrigerator or freezer, etc. is too large to fit in the dumpster, it should be placed along side the dumpster and the city office should be notified – and a special pick-up will be made. 

Items that may NOT be placed in the dumpster include:  household garbage, leaves, grass clippings, demolition or remodelling purposes.  NO concrete, rocks, dirt, tires, motor oil, batteries, paint, paint thinner, or any other household hazardous waste.
